St Stephen’s Church is offering a community-wide service of lamentation, with singers from around Marin County, on Sunday morning, October 31. The combination church choir & community singers will be under the direction of organist, Jonathan Dimmock. This will be a sung Requiem, by the French impressionist composer, Maurice Duruflé, within the context of a traditional liturgy, based in over 1000 years of tradition at times of mourning.
The Covid pandemic has effected us, each, personally and emotionally. Many have been touched by the loss of friends and family, the change of careers, the altering of relationships, and general depression. This service will provide a public opportunity for us all to come together, mourn our losses, be comforted by exquisite music, and be strengthened as we look toward a future of hope.
The church is open to all vaccinated persons. Masks are required indoors.
