My Expertise is with couples counseling, separation and divorce, parenting, infertility, adoption, teens, addictions, health issues, health education, grief, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behavior, eating disorders, social anxieties, life transitions and medication evaluation.  Thirty-five years of RN experience, especially those spent as a Hospice Nurse, have taught me the value of holistically treating clients' physical, mental and spiritual lives within the context of their most significant relationships.  I have been especially successful improving communication between couples, and assisting parents and children thrive as they advance through the progressive stages of growth and development. Additionally, the challenge of conquering addiction/substance abuse and eating disorders, with individuals who recognize their problem, has continued to be principally rewarding.

I have been working as a Marriage Family Therapist since 1998, spending the last two decades in counseling psychology, working with troubled elementary school children, adolescents, adults, and couples.  My goal is to assist you in achieving your maximum potential for happiness and health. This includes working on issues of self worth, physical and mental health, relationships (couples, marriage, parenting, siblings, peers), career, community and spirituality. My counseling approach facilitates awareness of your individual abilities and values that uniquely distinguish you within your social relationships and environment. This may necessitate exploration of your past and present history, beliefs, and behaviors that have resulted in some type of problem. Problems can manifest as addictions, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive behavior, stress, difficulties with marriage, parenting, career, sexual function, eating, sleeping, learning or physical health. Regardless of the symptoms, the purpose will be to understand the events which led to the current challenging situation and the necessary steps to plan for your future path towards a more satisfying, conscious, mindful existence.

I am a 58 yo woman working in Marin County. I have experience with many of life's difficulties both personally and professionally. Currently, I am the mother of three teenagers, aware of the complex challenges of today's world.  Being an R.N. I have a deep understanding and conviction regarding the primary value of physical health and well being. This sensitivity assists me in promoting best health practices, including helping individuals, couples and families, who must grieve and accept deficits and losses in their physical and mental conditions. My experience includes Hospice Nursing, oncology research, counseling at Planned Parenthood and healthcare for Infertile Couples.

My education, experience and accomplishments have given me the opportunity, insight and priviledge to enjoy the satisfying challenge of assisting others.  It is from this perspective that we will collaborate to achieve your optimal health and happiness.
