great food, excellent service, lots of food for a little price, loaded with locals that come everyday, they will make anything, special orders no problem, friendly service, small take out restaurant with great food, inexpensive.

China Express has it all- great Chinese food, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. I have been a resident of Novato for many years so I have tried almost every Chinese restaurant in Novato. But I didn't find a place as good as China Express. It is a family owned restaurant and the workers are friendly, nice, and willing to make you anything you like. If you are picky or if there isn't a plate on the menu to your liking, simply tell them what you like and they will make it for you specially. You can't get this kind of service at most restaurants.

I found this place on accident. I was lost in Novato, and i turned into a shopping center for directions. First, I saw a line coming out of this small chinese take-out restaurant. Out of curiosity, i walked by, before i even could get past the line, I smelled the chinese food being carried out onto the walkway, and heard traditional chinese music being played in the background. I walked into this cozy place, and found that there were chinese decorations that covered the walls. The best part was the healthy serving of rice,noodle, teriyaki chicken, and szechuan chicken that they put on my plate that barely rang to 6 dollars!!! It was some of the best chinese food that i have eaten north of the bay.

I would reccomend this local favorite to anyone.
